Fresh from shoplifting on standout track “Lidl” from the forthcoming album ‘The Rise of Captain Africa’ rising star Afrikan Boy is going from strength to strength as one of the UK’s most distinctive voices on the grime/new wave/afro beat scene.With his individual vocal style and talent Afrikan Boy is a set to become a big name mentioned amongst his peers such as Dizzee Rascal, M.I.A, Santigold, Buraka Som Sistema and 9ice for his creative sound and talent. With over 300 shows underneath his belt at the age of 19 Afrikan Boy definitely knows how to rock any crowd and any show. This of course has not gone unnoticed, catching the attention of a diverse range of industry big hitters and having opened shows for Prince during his 02 Arena shows and Bjork. After collaborating with M.IA on the track ‘Hussel’ from her album ‘Kala’ demand for more Afrikan Boy material has been widespread. His latest cross over single “Lagos Town” has proved to be a smash hit and later this year sees the release of his anticipated debut album ‘The Rise of Captain Africa’.
